Shayne Ward has swapped his singing career for an acting career by joining the cast of hit soap Coronation Street, as a result he has become one of the most popular characters on the successful soap.
He has appeared in Coronation Street since he made his on-screen debut in August 2015 playing ladies man Aidan Connor. His character is the half-brother of Carla Connor, who owed the factory Underworld and a distant cousin of Michelle who grew up on the same estate as her and boss Carla.
His character soon built up a bad boy reputation, being involved in many of the soap's controversial storylines including a complicated love triangle between Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).
Aidan's two timing has now caught up with him as Eva has discovered news of his affair with Maria.
His Coronation Street character has proven popular with fans and critics alike, with his performance praised by many in the industry. Hence he won two awards for Best Newcomer in 2016, one at the National Television Awards and the other at the Inside Soap Awards.
